Postdoctoral fellows in Dr. Yuan's laboratory at the Institute of Biophysics, CAS,  Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Two postdoctoral positions are available to study the signal transduction pathways associated with human neurodegeneration and olfactory receptors.

The position I: the signaling transduction study on the neuronal cell death in neurodegeneration. Training in molecular/cellular biology and/or neurobiology is strongly required.

The position II: using knock-out mouse/fly models to study the biological function of olfactory receptors and the underlined molecular mechanism. The experience on animal model is highly recommended.

Partial study in Yuan?s lab refers to the below:

1   Yuan?Z.Q., Becker, E.B.E., Merlo, P., DiBacco, S.E., Yomada, T., Schaefer, E.M., Bonni, A. (2008) Activation of FOXO1 by Cdk1 in cycling cells and postmitotic neurons. Science.319(5870):1665-8.

2        Lehtinen, M.K.*, Yuan, Z.Q.*, Boag, P.R., Yang, Y., Villén, J., Becker, E.B.E., DiBacco, S.E., Nuria de la Iglesia.,  Gygi, G., Blackwell, T.K., Bonni, A. (2006) A Conserved MST-FOXO Signaling Pathway Mediates Oxidative Stress Responses and Promotes Longevity. (*Equal contribution)  Cell. 125(5): 987-1001.

Both of the positions need PhD degree. The salary is compatible and varied with experience. Please send curriculum vitae, publication list and two letters of references to Yuan Zengqiang, Ph.D. at e-mail: zqyuan(at)ibp.ac.cn
