The Institute of Biophysics (IBP), Chinese Academy of Sciences invites applications for postdoctoral researcher or engineer positions in the field of advanced MR Imaging. IBP is equipped with multiple research-dedicated MR scanners, including a 3T Siemens Prismascanner and a whole-body 7T scanner which is the very first one and currently the only one in China, and fully functioning electromagnetic testing and mechanical fabrication facility. There are opportunities to collaborate with leading scientists, and very active research groups in neuroimaging, metabolic imaging, multimodal imaging, and ultrahigh field MR technologywithin the institute. The duties include, but do not limit to, the development of hardware and numerical models in electromagnetic and/or mechanical aspects of ultrahigh fieldwhole-body MR system and/or its imaging applications, or the development or implementation of pulse sequences to enable advanced applications. The position is also responsible for some minor administration work related to the scientific project management. Strong computer skill, MR radio frequency (RF) design experience, electromagnetic field knowledge, parallel imaging algorithm/recon fluency, and good sense in mechanical design will be essential. Technical writing/presentation skills and inter-personal communication skills are a must. Training or experience in one or more of the following areas -- heteronuclear imaging, spectroscopic imaging, diffusion imaging, pulse sequence design, or, molecular imaging, is desired. Familiarity with diverse computer operating systems and design-related software, such as AUTOCAD or Solidworks, C/C++, Matlab, is a plus. Successful applicant must be motivated to conduct MR research and capable of working independently and diligently with clear career goal.
Salary and compensations will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field. Interested candidates should send a copy of curriculum vitae to the following contact.
