"RNA dynamic structure and study on multidimensional interaction", an integrated program of a key National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) research project, was launched in Beijing on January 13, 2020.

 

Xue Yuanchao, researcher of Institute of Biophysics of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) served as the chief scientist of the program.

 

Wang Puyue, deputy director general of Division II of the Life Science Department at NSFC and Zhao Tianyu, director of the developmental biology and reproductive biology project, attended the conference. Also taking part in the conference were Chen Runsheng, academician at the Institute of Biophysics of CAS, Li Boliang, researcher at the Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology of CAS, Qu Lianggu, professor at Sun Yat-sen University, Zhou Xiang, professor at Wuhan University and Yang Yungui, researcher at Beijing Genome Institute of CAS. Zhu Bing, deputy director of the Institute of Biophysics of CAS, the unit undertaking the project, attended the conference and delivered a speech.

 

Zhu expressed a warm welcome to the leaders of the NSFC, the experts of the program steering group and the members of the program team. He praised the important role that the key projects and integrated program of the NSFC play in pushing forward the research of basic science. He said that as a unit, the Institute of Biophysics will carry out services and safeguard work for the implementation of the program. He said he hoped that the program team could complete tasks under the guidance of the chief scientist, and strive to make achievements and significant progress.

 

Wang said that the NSFC paid great attention to the program and expected it to make breakthroughs. She was there on behalf of the NSFC to explain the implementation, management and acceptance tests.

 

Chief scientist Xue introduced the background, targets, implementation and expected achievements of the integrated program. Experts had in-depth discussions and praised the team members, research ideas and targets of the program. They also put forward suggestions for the program's next stage.

 

The successful program launch ceremony not only promoted the in-depth exchange and academic cooperation between members of the program team, but also furthered the understanding of the integrated program's research plan and targets, laying a good foundation for its effective implementation.
