The Institute of Biophysics (IBP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) held a meeting on Sept 23 to report on progress in remediation of issues identified by the institute's Leading Party Members' Group.

Zhou Yadong, deputy secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of CAS Beijing Institutions and director of the Supervision and Audit Office of CAS Beijing Branch, introduced the inspection process and arranged evaluation of the inspection during the meeting.

IBP Director Xu Ruiming, on behalf of the leaders of the institute, gave a report on the remediation progress with reference to the key points put forward by the inspection team earlier this year, as well as the follow-up work arrangements. The institute has attached great importance to the remediation and made efforts to ensure its smooth implementation.

Regular inspection will help the institute become aware of its shortcomings objectively and continue to improve its management system. It will contribute to deepening reform of the institute's Center of Excellence and aid in the institute's re-planning of its medium- and long-term development and its emergence as a world-class scientific research institution focused on innovating science and technology and serving the country and the people.

The institute will continue to pay close attention to clean governance and its study style and to ideological and organizational construction, laying a solid foundation for its development as a first-class international scientific research institution.
