Updated: 2020-11-12

A symposium is held on Nov 10 to exchange and discuss the use of funds at the institute.

Zhao Shuo, secretary-general of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences Education Foundation (UCASEF), conducted an investigation tour of the Institute of Biophysics (IBP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on Nov 10. He met with Liu Li, deputy director of the IBP, and held a meeting with the heads of the institute and its departments.

Liu extended a welcome to the inspection team led by Zhao and expressed gratitude for the foundation's long-term support, hoping that an all-round and in-depth cooperation will be achieved in the future to promote the joint development of the two sides.

He then provided a detailed overview of the IBP's development history, organizational structure and research progress.

The head of IBP's education division gave an outline of the use of funds at the institute's level. As the UCASEF's first cooperative institute, the IBP has, with its help, set up a number of funds since 2011, providing strong support for improving the quality of postgraduate training.

Zhao outlined the overall situation of the foundation, the ways to utilize the institute's level funds and the work plan for the next stage. As a powerful public welfare platform, the foundation promotes the integration and development of science and education and contributions to public welfare by means of formulating scientific systems, strengthening media cooperation and publicity, and expanding its brand's influence.

With the use of detailed cases, he also introduced the scope of services of the institute's level funds, as well as its advantages and purposes.

Participants exchanged views on the problems existing in the current use of the funds and the direction of future cooperation.

Liu Li, deputy director of the IBP, outlines the institute's situation on Nov 10.

Zhao Shuo, secretary-general of UCASEF, speaks at the symposium on Nov 10.
