Huairou district head inspects IBP

Yu Qingfeng (2nd, R), deputy Party chief of Huairou district in Beijing and deputy secretary of Huairou Science City Party Working Committee, pays a field visit to the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, on Nov 13.

 

Yu Qingfeng, deputy Party chief of Huairou district of Beijing and deputy secretary of Huairou Science City Party Working Committee, made an inspection of the Institute of Biophysics (IBP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on Nov 13.

 

Yu first went to the Center for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (FMRI), taking a closer look at the center's key equipment such as the 3T and 7T FMRI systems and magnetoencephalography (MEG) system. Later, he held talks with the institute's staff.

 

Xu Ruiming, director of the IBP, extended a warm welcome to Yu, and expressed his thanks to Huairou district government for its long-term support for the IBP's research. He also gave a detailed outline of the institute and its strategic layout within Huairou.

 

Yu said that the IBP has made an important contribution to the development of life sciences in China. He added that Huairou district will continue to facilitate the IBP's cooperation with enterprises and local governments, and fully support it by providing land for scientific research and production, housing security and talent recruitment.

 

Xu expressed his gratitude to Huairou district for its substantial support once again. Noting that the district is one of the best partners of the IBP, he hoped that both sides will further work together in drug development and in the transformation of outcomes in science and technology into real productivity.

 

 

A meeting is held to exchange views on Nov 13 during Yu's inspection tour of the IBP.
