The symposium of “International Partnership Program for Creative Research Teams of Structural Biology” was held at Xiangshan Hotel on Oct 24th. Five overseas members of the team participated the symposium, including Prof. Yi Zhang from University of North Carolina, Prof. Xiaojiang Chen, Prof. Lin Chen from University of Southern California, Prof. Wenqing Xu from University of Washington and Prof. H. Peter Lu from Bowling Green State University. Prof. Ruiming Xu, Prof. Weiming Gong, Prof. Yingfang Liu, Prof. Pingsheng Liu, Prof. Ping Zhu, Prof. Tao Jiang of Institute of Biophysics(IBP) were participated the symposium. The guest also included Youguang Zhu, Deputy section chief of Comprehensive Office of Bureau of Life Sciences and Biotechnology Chinese Academy; Dr. Xiaoyong Qia, Division of Major Projects Administration of Department of basic research of Ministry of Science and Technology.

Prof. Ruiming Xu, leader of the team, introduced the progress of the team in last year. Prof. Xiaojiang Chen, Prof. Lin Chen, Prof. Yi Zhang, Prof. Wenqing Xu, and Prof. H. Peter Lu gave their research talks about the newest findings and the research plan of the team.

After the research talks, members of team took a heat discussion about the research directions and the manner of co-operation. They all believe that the team should have a goal-map, which aimed at the strategic requirement of the country and the advantage of IBP.

“International Partnership Program for Creative Research Teams of Structural Biology” made a broad platform for communication between IBP and foreign expert of structural biology. It will accelerate the development of structural biology of our country.
