On October 26, 2010, a high level pharmaceutical forum was held in Beijing under the auspices of the Biophysical Society of China, the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Sanofi Aventis, a leading global pharmaceutical company.

At the opening of the forum, both Dr. Xiyun Yan, Vice President of Biophysical Society of China and a Professor at the Institute of Biophysics and Dr. Leopold Bertea, Sanofi Aventis Vice President and Head of its Biologics Center gave welcome addresses.

Focused on areas as humanized antibodies, anticancer drugs, target analysis and so on, the forum aimed to develop a tighter link between biological institutions and pharmaceutical industry. During the forum, twelve distinguished scientists and experts presented their scientific research and latest achievements. Each presentation was followed by animated discussion among the participants. They also discussed the research innovation and developmental road of China’s biopharmaceutical industry. The forum supplied a good platform of discussion and idea exchange and played a positive role in promoting exchanges and cooperation among research institutes and pharmaceutical enterprises.
