In the morning of August 29th, 2013, Dr. Valda Vinson, Deputy Editor of Science, the top tier scientific journal of international reputation and circulation, visited the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Professor XU Tao, Director of IBP met and talked with Dr. Vinson at his office. Both sides expressed interest in developing cooperation in the future.

Dr. Vinson later gave a presentation entitled “How to Publish in Science” at IBP library. Professor ZHANG Hong hosted the lecture, which attracted many researchers and graduate students. Dr. Vinson joined the Science editor team in 1999. Currently, she is the Deputy Editor responsible for the fields of structural biology, proteomics, biophysics, and biochemistry. Dr. Vinson introduced to the audience the brief history and current development of the Science Journal, what kind and quality of articles are possible to be published by Science, how to submit manuscripts and the review process.

After the presentation, Dr. Vinson talked with several PIs and shared more of her experience in scientific publication.
