On 2nd Mar., 2016, the Director General, Prof. XU Tao met with the FEI Delegation, which was led by CEO Don Kania. The CAS Member, Prof. RAO Zihe attended the meeting.

Prof. XU Tao introduced IBP to the delegation. He hoped that IBP would not only be the customer of FEI, but also become cooperative partners with FEI, who can co-establish joint research center and promote instrument development.

Then, Prof. RAO Zihe said that methodology has always been the tradition for IBP research and that many of the researches in IBP are for application and methodology. Besides, since the funds for instruments are from tax payers, our instruments are open to the worldwide.

FEI CEO Don Kania introduced FEI. He treasured the collaborative relations with IBP and believed that both sides can create more cooperation platforms, which can contribute to the welfare of human beings. Others attending the meeting included Deputy Director General, Prof. SUN Ming and Head of Office of Science and Technology, Prof. LEI Ming.

Prof. XU Tao and Mr. Don Kania signed IBP-FEI Strategic Collaborative Agreement, which will lay a solid foundation for the application and technology development of Cryo Electron Microscopy of both sides.

Before the meeting, Prof. SUN Fei showed the delegation around Center for Biological Imaging and new buildings of IBP.
