Representatives from University of Macao visit IBP, CAS
On the morning of April 26, 2019, Ge Wei, vice president of the University of Macao and Yang Zhixin, director of the Research Services and Knowledge Transfer Office of the University of Macao visited the Institute of Biophysics (IBP) and had an in-depth exchange on relevant issues.
The event, as a return visit for the unveiling ceremony of the Australia-China Joint Laboratory of Neuroscience & Cognition attended by Xu Ruiming, director of the IBP when he visited the University of Macao on March 19, 2019, further laid the foundation for substantive cooperation between the two sides.
The IBP has unique research advantages in brain and cognitive science. The "global-first" research direction put forward by academician Chen Lin is the original one in the world. The University of Macao has formed a mature model for the introduction of various kinds of talents. It has geographical advantages in academic exchanges and cooperation, and has been actively promoting the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. At the symposium, the two sides discussed the potential and plans for future cooperation on joint graduate student enrollment,the transformation of achievements made in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the implementation of visiting programs for outstanding scholars, and the popularization of science.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Macao's return. This year, the Australia-China Joint Laboratory of Neuroscience & Cognition will, based on the research force of the Institute of Biophysics and the discipline of brain and cognitive science of University of Macao, promote the research on brain and cognitive science, strengthen the coordinated development of science and technology between the Mainland and Macao Special Administrative Region and establish a research team with international competitiveness.
Director Xu Ruiming, Academician Chen Lin, Researcher Zhang Peng, Assistant Researcher Zhang Zihao and relevant comrades of the Education Department and the Science and Technology Department attended the exchange meeting.
