On Oct. 9, 2015, the Director General, Prof. XU Tao met with the Israel Delegation, which was led by Prof. Ruth Arnon, the President of Israel Academy of Science and Humanities.

Prof. XU Tao introduced IBP to the delegation, including the history, research areas, achievements and international cooperation of IBP. Then, Prof. Ruth Arnon briefly talked about the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Both sides hope to extend further cooperation and exchanges.

Then, Prof. Ruth Arnon delivered the BEI SHIZHANG Lecture entitled From Basic Research to Applied Science and Drug Development, which was hosted by Prof. YAN Xiyun. Ruth Arnon mainly introduced Copaxone, which was developed by her and Prof. Michael Sela. She emphasized the importance of transfer and transformation of S&T achievements to the development of national economy and society. Her rewarding lecture broadened the horizon of the audience.
