A delegation from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) and InnovATEBIO visited the Institute of Biophysics (IBP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on August 18, 2026.

The visiting delegation consisted of Dr. Dave Micklos, Executive Director of CSHL's DNA Learning Center; Dr. Linnea Fletcher, Executive Director of the InnovATEBIO National Center for Biotechnology Education; Dr. Uwe Hilgert, Advisor to InnovATEBIO; and Mr. DU Cheng, Director of the CSHL DNA Science Center in Suzhou. Prof. XU Ruiming hosted the meeting on behalf of IBP, joined by representatives of the institute's research groups.

Professor XU welcomed the delegation and introduced IBP's research profile, expressing his hope to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the life sciences and biotechnology education.

Dr. Dave Micklos introduced educational and research programs of the CSHL DNA Learning Center and InnovATEBIO. He highlighted the strong alignment between the two sides in research priorities and educational missions and expressed his expectation of building a long-term and stable partnership with IBP.

Both sides held in-depth discussions on frontier research in the life sciences and potential cooperation in biotechnology education. They also exchanged views on future cooperative initiatives, including joint educational programs and academic events.

Following the meeting, the delegation toured IBP's High-Field Magnetic Resonance Laboratory and Biological Imaging Center, and visited Puyi Bio, an IBP spin-off enterprise.
