Responsibilities:

1.Proposing the disciplines, majors and types of the recruiting and training graduate students;

2. Reviewing graduate students training programs;

3. Reviewing the selection method of graduate supervisors and approving the list of graduate supervisors;

4. Examining and approving the list of thesis reviewers and the thesis defense committee;

5. Reviewing the list of proposed applicants applying for the degrees;

6. Proposing a list of persons to be awarded honorary doctorates;

7. Making proposals to withdraw a degree;

8. Handling appeals, disputes and other matters related to the award of a degree;

9. Putting forward opinions on disputes and other matters concerning degree awarding and submitting to the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences for consideration.
