Research Interests

Dendrites are the branched projections of a neuron which receive signals from other neural cells. They play a critical role in integrating synaptic inputs to the cell body. The malfunction of dendrites has been shown to be associated with many human diseases, such as autism, Down, Rett, Fragile-X syndrome et al.I am interested in the molecular mechanism of dendrite morphogenesis and maintenance. Here I will use the PVD neuron of C. elegans as the model system to isolate new genes controlling PVD neuron development and maintenance.
