The Insulin Crystal Structure Research Group of the Institute of Physics is merged into the Institute of Biophysics, and the Crystal Structure Research Center (Center Seven) is later established as part of the institute. Insulin crystal structure determination began in 1966, and the researchers mainly came from the Institute of Physics, the Institute of Biophysics and Peking University. In 1969, the relevant personnel of these units in Beijing were concentrated in the Institute of Physics, code-named "691" Company. The picture is a group photo of some members of the early structural biology research group: Liang Dongcai (second from right in row 3), Rao Zihe (first from left in row 3), Wang Dacheng (first from right in row 3), and Chang Wenrui (second from right in row 2).
