Special research assistant (post-doctor) positions are available at the research team of Li Guohong of IBP, CAS
The research team of Li Guohong of Institute of Biophysics (IBP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is mainly engaged in biological research on higher-order structure of chromatin and epigenetic regulation. The work mainly includes the following three directions:
(1) Study on molecular mechanism of 30 nm chromatin fiber structure and epigenetic regulation;
(2) Dynamic changes of higher-order structure of chromatin and epigenetic regulation during disease occurrence and reproductive development;
(3) Construction of centromeric chromatin and artificial chromosome.
The research team now plans to recruit 3-4 special research assistants (postdocs) in the following five directions. The treatment of special research assistants (postdocs) is based on the latest policies and systems of the CAS regarding special research assistants and the applicant's experience (about 250,000-300,000/year). Excellent candidates will be qualified to apply for the subsidy for postdocs of Shenzhen (about 300,000-350,000/year).
I. Requirements for Positions
Position 1: Using Drosophila model to study the structure and regulation mechanism of 30nm chromatin fiber in nucleus
1. Candidates with working experience in Drosophila genetics will be preferred if they have recently or will soon obtain a doctor's degree in genetics or cell biology.
2. Candidates shall love scientific research, have team spirit and strong study spirit and innovative consciousness.
3. Candidates shall be able to work independently, and have strong language expression and communication skills, good English proficiency, and ability to write academic papers and communicate in English.
Position 2: Using high-throughput omics and high-resolution imaging to study the structure and regulation mechanism of 30nm chromatin fibers in nucleus
1. Candidates with working experience in bioimaging or cryo-electron microscopy will be preferred if they have recently or will soon obtain a doctor's degree in biology, chemistry or physics. Candidates with bioinformatics background are also welcome to apply.

3. Candidates shall be able to work independently, and have strong language expression and communication skills, good English proficiency, and ability to write academic papers and communicate in English.
Position 3: Using cell and animal models to study the molecular mechanism of Rett syndrome caused by MeCP2 mutation
1. Candidates with experience in stem cells, model animal or animal behavior will be preferred if they have recently or will soon obtain a doctor's degree in cell biology or neurobiology.
2. Candidates shall love scientific research, have team spirit and strong study spirit and innovative consciousness.
3. Candidates shall be able to work independently, and have strong language expression and communication skills, good English proficiency, and ability to write academic papers and communicate in English.
Position 4: Development of DNA sequencing technology and chromatin detection technology based on nanopore technology
1. Candidates with experience in protein or nucleic acid chemistry will be preferred if they have recently or will soon obtain a doctor's degree in biochemistry or analytical chemistry.
2. Candidates shall love scientific research, have team spirit and strong study spirit and innovative consciousness.
3. Candidates shall be able to work independently, have strong language expression and communication skills, and have strong interest in technology development.
Position 5: Development of new techniques and methods for the construction and stable inheritance of artificial chromosomes
1. Candidates with experience in synthetic biology and animal genetics will be preferred if they have recently or will soon obtain a doctor's degree in molecular biology or cell biology.
2. Candidates shall love scientific research, have team spirit and strong study spirit and innovative consciousness.
3. Candidates shall be able to work independently, and have strong language expression and communication skills, good English proficiency, and ability to write academic papers and communicate in English.
