Analytical ultra-centrifuge is a combination of preparation centrifuge and optical detection. It has a broad application, such as, scientific research and biopharmaceutical industry areas.

The major usage of the analytical ultra-centrifuge is to verify the behavior of biopolymers in liquid. It can be used to detect the purity of a sample, to verify the mechanism of biomolecular assembly and disassembly, to measure the subunit's composition of components, to detect and verify the conformational changes of biopolymers, and to verify the binding constant of macromolecular self-association and hetero-association as well.

The advantage of this equipment is that the sedimentation process of the sample is undenatured real-time detection in liquid.  Especially it can measure the parameters of fluid kinetics and thermodynamics.
