The laboratory was established at IBP in December 2009. It is committed to meeting the national needs for prevention and treatment of major infectious diseases. It carries out basic and applied research on hepatitis B, hepatitis C, AIDS, and other major viral diseases. It pays special attention to the early events of infection, the molecular mechanisms of virus-host interactions, mechanisms of immune responses during the early stages of viral infection, pathological immune mechanisms and viral clearance mechanisms. To advance the nation’s scientific and technological ability to prevent and control infectious diseases and to promote the development of the biopharmaceutical industry, the laboratory endeavors to unravel basic immunological mechanisms, to develop infection-clearing therapeutic antibodies and to design small molecule antiviral drugs. During the past five years, the laboratory has published 64 scientific papers in SCI journals with an average impact factor of 5.8. Among these papers, 32 were published in important journals (IF> 5) such as Science, Nature Medicine, Proc Natl Acad Sci USA, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Blood. ♦ Major research areas ♦ Principal Investigators ♦ Organization ♦ Management ♦ Academic Achievements ♦ Graduate Education ♦ Contact Us
